They were a tide of youthful talent, a wave that rose over the capital city, a group of young people from Caracas called Los Dangers who did not allow themselves to be taken away by this passionate sound by any current, which they immediately synchronized with the original sound of surfing, descending of Pipeline adding a touch of rebellion. It did not take them long to get contracts, as they attracted the attention not only of other young people like them but of specialized announcers.
To cover the energy of “Gonzales” from The Shadows, it required talents like these guys, someone who could turn songs from bands as seemingly distant as that one into explosive pieces with their own identity. A real bomb in the youth of the young urban Caracas. Covering is not an easy task, it requires courage and courage, and in “Gonzalez” we see that, Los Dangers, they had that to spare, raising the tempo, setting the rhythm and playing each phrase with the force of a wave of notes, making boast of a new way of looking at life, carefree, full of humor and vitality, with enough power to challenge their parents, causing young people to run away from school, doing impromptu concerts. If there had been a Venezuelan Bruce Brown recording surfers off the coast of Aragua, without hesitation, he would have included “Gonzalez” from Los Dangers in one of his films. However, with Los Dangers in Caracas, we can say that Surfing transcends the coast and conquers the city, adding a spark of power.
